Between 50 and 60 citizens met April 19th, 1969 at the Fairview Hotel and formed the Bridgewater Duplicate Club. The first President elected was Max Olive (also our first life master) and weekly play started on April 26th. The first Fall Sectional Tournament was held Sept 5, 6, 7 of 1969 at the local curling club.

In the early 80's the Club started advertising and posting weekly top game winners in the local weekly newspaper in an effort to attract more interest in the game and possibly more members to the club. This practice continues today in several community papers in our playing area.

In May of 1982 the Club moved it's playing area to it's current location at the Wandlyn Inn, 50 North St., Bridgewater.

In the early 1990's we added a permanent Partnership Chairperson which helped increase regular participation and in 1996 bidding boxes were added as well as a computer with ACBL scoring.

Since 2000 we have adopted the ACBL ZERO tolerance policy, a scent free playing area and in October 2003 we added Monday nights to our regular Wednesday evening schedule.

We offer lessons for beginner, intermediate or expert when there are at least 5 people wanting said lessons
